April 25: Web - Resisting Stigma by Asking for Help #MCLE

This month's legal lunchbox is part of our annual Work and Wellness Day in partnership with the WSBA's Lawyers Assistance Program.

Join presenter Wil Miller for a deeply personal and inspiring account of how he overcame the stigmas of: (1) being gay, (2) being a convicted felon, (3) being a recovered meth addict, and (4) being disbarred, while resurrecting his career as an attorney and being readmitted to the bar. It will include practical tips on reestablishing your reputation online, how to tell your story, and how to convince clients, bosses, judges and co-workers that your “stigmatized past” is actually a valuable asset, not something to hide or be ashamed of.

Frances Schopick, J.D., M.S.W., will then join Wil to facilitate a discussion of how sharing our dilemmas can help forge closer connections.
For this month's Legal Lunchbox, join our faculty for a conversation including the following topics: building a book of business, practice development and marketing, how to ask for help, staying professionally engaged and career development.
