September 9: Emerging Bankruptcy Trends from the Pandemic

The U.S. economy, hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic, has recently seen bankruptcies affecting a broad range of industries, including retailers, airlines, restaurants, fitness centers, and oil producers.
Hertz and J.C. Penney are just two of the roughly 140 U.S. businesses of all sizes that have blamed Covid-19 at least in part for their demise. With the pandemic raging on, it is very likely that bankruptcy and restructuring will be one of the fastest-growing practice areas in the legal industry in the coming years.
In this webinar, we will discuss how the Covid-19 health crisis has changed the legal practice of bankruptcy. We will take a detailed look at the results of the 2020 Bloomberg Law Bankruptcy Survey to analyze how law firms are preparing for the potential increase in workflow, discuss best practices for preparing new attorneys in this practice area, and share insights on guiding clients through the decision to file.
Educational Objectives:
  • Understand how the pandemic and resulting downturn are affecting the legal market
  • Hear legal practitioners about how best to prepare for more work, and how to quickly train new attorneys in bankruptcy practice
  • Benefit from Bloomberg Law’s data-driven market insights about bankruptcy practice.
This webinar is intended for law firm bankruptcy practitioners, associates new to bankruptcy, and managers of law firms thinking about building their bankruptcy practice.
