November 15: A New Leaf: Cannabis Legalization in Minnesota

This spring, Minnesota became the 23rd state to legalize the recreational use of cannabis, kicking off a process of expunging past convictions for marijuana possession and creating a regulatory framework for businesses to apply for licenses to legally grow, manufacture, and sell to the public. North Star Law Group partners James Gempeler, a criminal defense attorney, and Jen Randolph Reise, a business and regulatory attorney, will explain the main points of the new cannabis law, including:

• Changes to criminal laws
• Expungement of past cannabis convictions (automatic and non)
• Upcoming licensing regime for cannabis businesses
• Regulation of already-legal hemp-derived THC edibles and beverages.
