The Honorable Mary Jane Theis

Justice Theis's presentation will focus on judicial campaigns and the ethical concerns raised by contributions.  She will discuss her own experiences, as well as the current state of the law, including Illinois Supreme Court Rules 63 and 67, and proposals for change here in Illinois and around the country.  Without endorsing any of these proposals, or indeed suggesting that any change is necessary, Justice Theis hopes to provoke thoughtful discourse on this subject.
