December 15: Ethics for Legal Professionals When Using Technology

Technology continues to reshape every aspect of our personal and professional lives. This ethics course is designed for new and seasoned legal professionals – attorneys, paralegals and staff members alike – to review and reinforce common ethical duties related to the use of technology. The course zeroes in on the most common ethical issues that arise daily across all legal roles and best practices for using social media and the open web, conducting legal and factual research, and adopting emerging AI technology solutions.

Speaker:
Molly Guth, Esq. is a Field Solutions Consultant for Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Michigan, and supports State & Local Government customers across Lexis’s portfolio of products, content, and practice areas. She graduated from Miami University (OH) and Valparaiso University School of Law.
Professionally, she has worked as committee staff on Capitol Hill, as Magistrate in a general division trial court in Ohio, as public defender and appointed counsel and mediator. In the private sector, she had her own law firm, and has served in multiple roles at Lexis. Molly is licensed in Ohio, has taught for the Ohio Supreme Court Judicial Collage and is an adjunct professor, teaching Business Law, and Legal Research and Writing when time permits. Molly is currently a board member, and former Chair, of the Warren County Law Library Resources Board.
