Don Vilfer and Divya Dwarakanath of Digital Evidence Ventures will cover the tech and law related to digital evidence authentication and share eye-opening examples from real cases where their firm has been called in to evaluate and testify about such. - Don Vilfer is the founder of Digital Evidence Ventures, a top-tier Computer Forensics firm with offices in California and Idaho. He is a sought-after expert who has provided sworn testimony in over 130 cases. He served in the FBI as a Special Agent, working dozens of high-profile matters while leading an FBI Headquarters Major Case Management Team at venues ranging from The White House to the Oklahoma City Bombing. His final FBI assignment was as the Supervisory Special Agent in charge of White-Collar Crime and Computer Crime in Sacramento. He is a member of the Ohio Bar (inactive) and has been a frequent media commentator as well as a lecturer in the University of California, Davis Master’s in Forensic Science program.
- Divya Dwarakanath is the CTO and Senior Forensic Examiner at Digital Evidence Ventures. She began her career as a penetration tester, working with leading technology companies across the Bay Area, including Google, Apple, Meta, Square, Amazon, and numerous startups, identifying and remediating critical security vulnerabilities. She then spent nearly a decade at Snapchat as a Senior Manager leading corporate security, incident investigations, and red teaming efforts. Today she is a certified forensic expert specializing in mobile, cloud, windows, and social media forensics, working closely with legal teams to uncover, analyze, and explain digital evidence in complex matters.
