There is no charge to the volunteer for the training program or training materials. Volunteers who participate must meet all of the other requirements of the CLE Board.
The volunteer will be credited one CLE credit for each hour of course work attended. Additionally, there is no limit on credits obtained annually through VIP.
VIP tries to refer a case to the volunteer within two weeks of the training session. To receive credit, a volunteer must take a case within six months of the training session. Volunteers will be expected to handle one case for the total completion of each CLE course they attend.
If the client withdraws or if it is determined that the case is not meritorious, another case will be referred to the volunteer. A signed representation agreement must be received in the VIP office for the CLE agreement to be considered fulfilled. VIP submits the credits to the CLE board within two weeks of the training date. However, if a volunteer does not take a case within six months, the credit is retracted.
