April 6: The Presidential Succession Act at 75: Praise It or Bury It?

Who should act as president if the president and vice president are not able to do so or their offices are vacant? Congress last answered that question 75 years ago with the Presidential Succession Act of 1947. Since then, events and commentators have raised questions about the law, including whether it invites political instability. In the wake of recent events, this program will analyze the merits of the current presidential line of succession and whether reform is needed.
