October 27: Tribal Court Protection Orders

Description:

This session will review how the Tulalip Tribes' culturally-rooted response to family and domestic violence resulted in Tulalip's robust and innovative victim services model. Attendees will learn about Tulalip's trauma-informed legal procedures and where Tulalip and Washington's protection order procedures align and differ. 

Issues arising at the intersection of Tulalip and Washington law will be addressed, including recognition, jurisdictional considerations, and common complications arising during enforcement of Tribal Court issued protection orders.
